Riley Cooper |
It is unfortunate situation, however Cooper did it to himself. I watched the video and indeed what Cooper said was despicable to say the least. In no way or circumstance do I condone what Riley Cooper said, it was wrong and he will suffer the consequences and may lose his career. I don't believe that Cooper is a racist at heart. I believe that he made a terrible mistake.
The problem I have is that when someone other that African American uses the "N" word all hell breaks loose, as in the case of Riley Cooper. Had it been a Black athlete no one would have said a word, chances are it would have been completely over looked because it would have been a BLACK on BLACK attack.
The "N" word is gloried by black artist on a daily basis, not only do they use the "N"word in every word, they also call for the murder of "whites". Where is Al $harpton and Jessie Jack$$on why is that they do not denounce the rappers for such hateful and vile remarks..Yet they come out in force if a white people say something inappropriate. Why? Because it is a one way street that is why. Here a a few examples of the hate filled rhetoric which is glorified by rappers.
Tommy Boy
Kill the white people; we gonna make them hurt; kill the white
people; but buy my record first; ha, ha, ha"; "Kill d'White People";
--Apache, Apache Ain't Shit, 1993, Music, Time Warner, USA.Denver, CO- A white female teenager, Brandy DuvaI, is
raped, sodomized, tortured with a broomstick and stabbed 28 times by
a gang of six blacks and Hispanics. Her skull is caved in and corpse
dumped into a ditch. Police confiscate a blood soaked mattress as
evidence. The murder trial started on the same day as the James Byrd
trial!"Niggas in the church say: kill whitey all night long. .
. the white man is the devil. . . . the CRIPS and Bloods are
soldiers I'm recruiting with no dispute; drive-by shooting on thi
white genetic mutant. . . . let's go and kill some rednecks. . . .
Menace Clan ain't afraid. . . . I got the .380; the homies think I'm
crazy because I shot a white baby; I said; I said; I said: kill
whitey all night long. . . . a nigga dumping on your white ass; fuck
this rap shit, nigga, I'm gonna blast. . . . I beat a white boy to
the motherfucking ground"; "Kill Whitey"; --Menace Clan, Da Hood,
1995, Rap-A-Lot Records, Noo Trybe Records, subsidiaries of what was
called Thorn EMI and now is called The EMI Group, United Kingdom. complete article here
This is the type of unreported behavior I am talking about. If you want to BAN the offensive word "Nigger" then in my opinion, everyone should be quit glorifying the word. Instead the black rappers are the ones who continue to glorify the word and they pick and choose when to use it and when anyone other than a black person uses the "N" word, that means the person who used the term is racist. That's just my opinion of course.
If the "N" word is so so offensive then why in the hell is it so widely worn by black artist. If it were so offensive then quit wearing the damn shirt with the "N" word plastered all over the fron and back. That is just a thought. source
I do understand completely how the black community must feel when a white person uses the word as a descriptor of a black person or the race. It is unacceptable, but I again stress it is only unacceptable if used by another race other than black. This is complete B.S. The African Americans of this nation need to take a stance and clean up the language and threatening lyrics of the rappers who use the "N" word in everyday conversation and rap songs that will go a long way in mending fences.
I will say this again, what Riley Cooper said was wrong and he is going to pay the price for what he said. However if it were a black athlete that said what Riley did, the event would have gone unreported and certainly would not have been the lead news story across America.
With the Riley Cooper commits coming on the heels of the George Zimmerman acquittal case in Florida, our race relations have taken huge step backwards and that is sad, it is a sad day for all.
One would have thought that the election of a black president, one would believe that this country took a positive step forward in race relations, but that is not the case. Hussein Obama has done nothing while in office to improve race relations. By his blatant actions of taking sides in the case of his "SON" Trayvon Martin, Obama has set back race relations back 20 years. Again, that is just my opinion.
I understand the anger of Coopers teammates, I really do but remember this
John 8:7
"let he who is without sin, cast the first stone"
Matthew 7:1
"Do not judge, or you too will be judged - in other words how many of you have said things you regretted in life. We have all made mistakes along the way, just try and make good out of something bad.
God Bless
