Border Violence

Mexican Army KIA
Let me warn you,  there are some extremely graphic photographs through the article. On occasions,  while having coffee with friends the topic of the border war comes up. I will be asked a question by someone who is either from out of state, or is from someone who is not familiar with the border war. I am asked if the border war is as bad as reported, or is the war just sensationalized by the media from Mexico and the United States.  I am here to tell you, not only is the border war dangerous,  it is, in my opinion spinning totally out of control in some areas in Mexico.  The attacks happen daily as do the murders.  I would tell anyone thinking about going in to Mexico right now, I would say this…..ARE YOU FREAKING CRAZY OR WHAT!  Am I trying to scare you. Yes I am. Go to Walmart if you want to save money,  Mexico is not the place to go right now.

Just take a look at the flow of traffic as a shoot out broke out in the middle of the highway in Matamoros,  is a major city of over a million in population, give or take a few. Matamoros is a stones throw from Brownsville, Texas, a  city which has a population of over 100,000. Both cities depend on each other for their economies to flourish. The citizens of Matamoros, Mexico are really struggling and having a difficult time adjusting to the violence.  I will say this, Matamoros has some very good people, not everyone is a Cartel member, they are good people struggling to exist within the violence.

The people still have to exist, the children still have to go to school, and the mother and fathers have to work, buy groceries and what not. I can’t image how people endure,  but they do; can you just imagine taking your children to school and all of sudden you are caught in the middle of a fire-fight between the cartels and the military, well it happens more than you would like to think.  I would be panic stricken, with one thing on my mind, and that is saving my kid(s).

I am sure  trying to save the life of my children, and that of others if possible. I do not want to say that a shootout occurs in front of a school daily,  but it does happen, it may happen  downtown, or in the neighborhoods, or right out in the middle of the street in broad daylight, for all to see.  It is terrible and their appears there is no end insight. Mexico is putting up a valiant effort, but victory is no where in sight, no where.  No one seems to know what to do next.  Until Mexico gets a firm grasp on what the next step is the violence continues.  Many families have been displaced by the violence in there neighborhood.
Running to Save His daughters Life
The sad part is the children having to live in fear of just going outside and play like normal kids.  Many of the parents have told me that they do not allow the children outside, not even to play it’s too dangerous.  There has been a lot said of the cartels exploiting  young teenagers youths to do some of their dirty work like being drug mules, in which the kids are 16 years of age or younger.

The reason being is, they know our justice system as well as the Mexican justice system will not prosecute juveniles for the most part.  Cartels are also training young teenage girls for assassinations and other crimes,  some the kids are as young as 12 to 14 years of age.  I just can not fathom an assassin that is as young as 12 to 14 years old, but they do. The teens are lured to the cartel by the promise of money and living life in the fast lane. The teens have been paid in the area of $2,000 per month, that is a large sum of money, for a teen.  The cartel is looking for a way to get away with their actions without causing detection.

It’s not unusual for the cartels to try to use individuals they think the police wouldn’t look at, and who better than very young kids.  Also, the kids are used as “Mules”. Mules is a slang used by Police.  A  “MULE” is a person(s) who will smuggle the drugs to a secluded area; usually someone on the U.S. side is already waiting at a predetermined location for the narcotic cargo. That is all a “MULE” is used for. Someone else is used to take the drugs to a safe house or warehouse whatever the case may be.

The results of the fighting can be seen laying in the street. He was a Mexican cartel member gunned down in a fire-fight with the Mexican Military in the streets of Matamoros, Mexico.  Another causality of this Border War is the tourism, which Mexico depends on to fuel their economy.  As it is, Matamoros is  struggling to make it. Which is nothing new. Prior to the Border Wars, Mexico’s economy was in the tank. The war has only made it worse.

Border Violence Hot and Heavy....

What can you say about the violence,
nothing!
The border war was in full stride this Mother's day week end when 12 members of the Zetas were shot and killed by the Naval forces of Mexico, one marine died in the gunfight on Sunday, which took place in Falcon Lake in the state of Tamaulipas.

The Mexican Navy are saying the fighting started when the naval forces on patrol around the lake area found a very odd-looking camp on the island and zetas opened fire to protect their so called turf.
The naval forces found a very large amounts of assault rifles, grenades and other weapons hidden in the area.  Falcon Lake, is the area of the Rio Grande which is 35 to 40 miles south of Laredo, Texas. Falcon Lake made the national news last fall when Tiffany Hartley, the young wife the zetas chased down who also shot and killed her husband, David. The couple had been riding on their jet skis back from the Mexican side of the lake, after visiting the church which was on the Mexican side. So the zeta cartel gunned him down, for no reason.  The Mexican officials called off a search for David Hartley on Oct.
14, shortly after the lead investigator on the case, Police Commander Rolando Flores, was killed and decapitated.

David Hartley's body has never been found, the reason being the cartel would not give it up and neither the Mexican Government, or the Military could do anything about it. This area has been used by the cartels for some time, they use it as an easy access point into the United States, less law enforcement presence.  Where is the beef Mr President. Our border Sheriffs can not do this alone, we are out numbered, and out gunned. Are you going to wait until we have a major confrontation and our officers are killed or overrun?  Yes you got Bin Laden, that is yesterdays news, what can you do for us today. It is the same question that has been asked of you since you took office...what can you do to secure the border, today.
Now that Obama is riding his Usama Bin Laden high, he is making his first appearance on the border, at El Paso.  Sheriff Paul Babeu has invited the POTUS multiple times to Arizona, and the Obama never accepted.....it was not election time I guess. For some reason Obama is avoiding Arizona like the plague.

The violence is here, not to the extreme you are seeing in Mexico, but it is here. Something is going to have to give, if not "Washing to We gotta problem."

Until Next Time, May God Bless You, and May God Bless America"

Border Violence Increases & Illegal Immigration Soaring

I want to apologize in advance for some of the gruesome pictures I have displayed. I feel it is the only way to show you how bad the situation is just south of our border, not more than 30 miles from the United States. We have to make people understand exactly what our law enforcement community will be up against should the violence spill over to U.S.

The border violence in Mexico is on the increase. Since early April, 88 bodies have been discovered in a mass grave on a ranch in northern Mexico. The graves were found in the same municipality where 72 illegal migrants from Central and South America were massacred in August 2010 after being kidnapped as they transited Mexico. One U.S. citizen has also been reported missing in the same area. What is puzzling, Janet Napolitano keeps saying that our Borders are safe. In my opinion, it is just a matter of time before the border explodes into violence on the scale of what is happening on the Mexican side. Just read the cards. The cartels are fearless and will stop at nothing to get their drugs into the United States. If Napolitano believes for a moment that these guys will not challenge our law enforcement she is wrong. However Napolitano knows this already,  how can she explain off the deaths of our brave Border Patrol Agents, as a random acts of violence? Sorry, that dog does not hunt. There have been countless incursions of the Mexican Military into the United States and still the nothing is done to secure the borders. Some of the Military works with the cartel very little about this is reported however. I go back to the statement that Obama made, "That United States can absorb another 9/11 attack". Really? What will the victims of 9/11 say about this. I wonder. Where do you think the Mexican cartels are learning their terror tactics, learning how to detonate car bombs? Just think about it that for a minute. I have had multiple sources from Mexico tell me that there have been Hamas factions giving the cartel terror lessons. Is it true, I have no idea, is it possible, absolutely possible. I have never seen so much violence in Mexico, not on this scale. Is it ever going to improve? Not anytime soon. Unless the Mexican government backs off and gives in to the cartel demands.
Cartel Soldier
I am very doubtful the Mexican government will give in anytime soon. President Calderon has played his hand when he went on the offensive against the cartels shortly after he took office in 2006.  However Calderon has gained very little ground against the cartels. Evidenced by the local passengers who have been abducted from busses between March 24 and March 29, this added to the latest string of violence in Mexico' s war against the drug cartels which alone in the state of Tamaulipas has led to the killing of 160 people in the last month. 160 people killed in one month alone, and the Obama administration believes that the violence will not spill over to the United States. I hope they are right, however I believe it is just a matter of time until violence spills over.  Sources I have talked with on the United States side agree. What about the David Hartley case, nothing really major has developed since
Mexican Soldier
Hartley was shot off of his jet ski by Zeta cartel members in Southern Texas as Hartley and his wife were exploring a church on the Mexican side of Falcon lake. Mexico has indicated some arrests were made and that is the truth, but the arrest were nothing more non-significant cartel "gophers" who were just "give-ups," appeasement arrests for a lack of a better word. Who knows how this is going to play out. Does the United States get involved. I hope that they would put the pressure on Mexico, the Hartley family deserves it. With that said, Mexico has shown no ability to be able to gain an advantage against the cartels. Since President Felipe Calderon's crackdown on drug cartels and organized crime in 2006, the violence has claimed more than 36,000 lives, an average of about 9,000 victims per year  Whatever the numbers are, it is unacceptable. With all the death and violence on both sides of the border their appears that there are no viable solutions on the horizon. "In spite of an effort to do more, there does not appear to be a plan in place that actually accomplishes the objectives of a secure border," Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, said in a recent speech to the U.S.-Mexico Congressional Border Issues Conference. One of the major reasons we have to accept as a nation is the the huge drug consumption. An issue which has seen billions of  tax dollars dumped into rehab programs which for the most part has failed.  Most of the government planning is focused on the busy Arizona-Mexico border. We need a plan for the entire border, from the Gulf Coast to the Pacific in order to have a chance. However this is my opinion, and it may not be worth much.
Another issue that we will have to take into consideration with the Drug War/Border Violence is the fear of what could be unleashed next from Mexican President Felipe Calderon's four-year-old war against the drug cartels has border-state officials very nervous. So far, as i indicated above about 36,000 people have been killed, including several Americans. A recent report suggested about a quarter-million Mexicans have been displaced from their homes and about a quarter of those have come to the United States. Most are Mexicans, however some are O.T.M.'s  (Other than Mexican.) This could include, people of middle eastern decent, Brazilians, Chinese etc. You get the picture. We revert right back to the original problem........."The Borders Are Not Secured"   Here is an interesting comment made by  Bradley Schreiber, a former Homeland Security senior adviser and current vice president for the Applied Science Foundation for Homeland Security, " Schreiber said the government has employed a piecemeal strategy using technology or personnel.  But so far, the government hasn't developed a solid way to measure the threat and therefore can't know for sure if it is really responding to it in the best way.  "We don't know what the threat is because we haven't done a thorough assessment," Schreiber said. "We don't know what's coming across, and we don't have a strategy to address it."  What else is there left to say, to me, it makes what Janet Napolitano has been preaching a mute point, that our borders are secure. I do not believe so. If the violence spills over.....I can not even imagine the consequences.

2012 is fast approaching,  there are major issues on the table that need to be addressed, Obama will have had 4 years to have made a difference. I guess he has made a difference, a deficit that has increased by 34 billion dollars a day since he has been in office, borders that are unsecure and now has us in a third war, and $4.00 a gallon gasoline prices. Obama has criticized and blamed President Bush for the same conduct and nothing is said by mainstream media. It is acceptable for one, but not the other. It will be let to us to make the right choice for America....................we do not have much time left.

Until next time, May God Bless You and may God Bless America.

Brian Terry United States Border Patrol Killed in Line of Duty.

Agent Brian Terry
As everyone well knows now Border Partrol Agent Brian Terry was shot and killed in the line of duty on December 14, 2010. Agent Terry was killed while his unit was persuing what is known as a "Rip Crew." A rip crew is  the name given to gangs/groups that seek to rip off people being used as drug mules or those crossing the border illegally. Do you remember when Secretary Napolitano referenced the Southern area of Arizona was now safer than it has been in years. Lets go tell that to Agent Terrys family. I do not believe the family would agree with Secretary Napolitanos view of the border being safer now than before.  In my opinion, Secretary Napolitano should resign her position, she is not qualified for the position.  She is so far left in her political view that she almost falls off the chart.
Just look at our border situation, it is totally out of control. The cartel is able to clearly able to operate within our own borfers and free to import tons and tons of narcotics, almost at will. Our men and women of United States Border Protection, which includes Border Patrol are doing a fantastic job. A job made more difficult and more dangerous because of an impotent Presidential administration. We do confiscate tons of narcotics destined for the United States. Our front line agents and narcotic task forces are doing a wonderful job,  With that said, can you just imagine how much of the illict narcotics make it to the heartland of the United States and Canada on a yearly basis,  it is  beyond imagination my friends. I have witnessed the war on drugs from the front lines when I worked narcotics for about 6 years when I was assigned to a narcotics task force.  I have seen the tons of drugs that were seized by agents, and like in any war I have seen agents, like Agent Brian Terry killed in this drug war. A drug war that has gone unchecked and our border has gone unsecured for much too long.  The administration contiuues do nothing. It is an insult to the good men and women who risk their life daily, and their oun government will not assist and secure the borders. How many more Agents must die, how many more families will be ripped apart before this President decides to get involved and assist in securing the border?

Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu

The drug war has now expanded into a battle of keeping out terrorists who are now mixing in with the massive exodus of illegal immigrants, and Secretary Napolitano wants to say our Southern Border is safer now, than it has been in years past, I say B.S.!!  Napolitano qualifies her statement by saying border apprehensions have gone down compared to years past.  Maybe apprehensions have gone down, but that does not secure our borders or make them any safer than before. I have talked with many field agents and Sheriffs from along the border and I am being told our borders are just as dangerous and just as pourous and just as dangerous as in previous years, especially in Arizona.  The pleas from Sheriff Paul Babeu have basically fallen on deaf ears. Multiple times the Sheriff has requested and invited President Obama to come down and visit the area, and to my knowledge, President Obama has not assepted Sheriffs Babeu's invitation. Why would the President not come down to the border area and meet with Sheriff Babeu and the other Sheriffs of the area? I relly wonder why. The President has jumped aboard his big ole "747" and took a trip to Iraq and to Afghanistan and visited with the troops who are fighting our war on terror, which was good.  Maybe, just maybe President Obama and his administration does not classify the killig of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry as a casualty of the drug war, maybe President Obama does not classify the war on drugs as an actual war, maybe the Presidents believes this is a "Police Action."  I just do not know what our President thinks. We all know in the past, Obama did not want to call the "War on Terror" a War on Terror. He also did not, or does not want to call a Terrorist a Terrorist, as not to offend a certian class of people. So with all the video and sounds bites of the President's remarks, I truly believe he thinks the war on drugs is just a mere police problem and does not require or need troop intervention.  He wants the States to handle it.  So what does the President do to assit the state of Arizona? When immigration legislation was passed to tightened its own state immigration law, President Obama had his Attorney General (Eric Holder) sue the State of Arizona citing the new Arizona immigration is unconstitutional. I can go on and on with all of the negatives. The bottom line is however, President Obama and his administration have refused to secure our borders. It is dangerous and grows more dangerous on a daily basis. American citizens are now being murdered by the drug cartel. The drug cartels are now adopting the tacics of terrorist. Hamas has infiltrated the cartels to a degree,  which is evident by recent car-bomb explosions in Matamoros and Reynosa, and Cd Juarez Mexico in past months. Has the car bombings peaked any interest from the White House? Not to my knowledge.
This administration does nothing to assist in securing our borders but sit idly by and wait for a major event to happen. President Obama is on record of saying the United States can aborb another 9/11 style attack. I do not believe the American people will absorb another term of an idle President who has dang near drowned this Great Nation in debt by his massive unchecked spending habits. A debt that very well may never ever paid.  We may very well be working to secure our own borders in the furture, however the border lines may be different than what we are used to seeing in the future;  we may be known as the "United States of China". Stop and think who owns most of our debt NOW. Yes you are right, China does. With that I close for now.  My closing statement,

Mr. President, "We The People" just partially cleaned house in the past Mid-Term Elections, we will finish the job in 2012.

To all of our Troops on the front lines of Afganhistan and Iraq, and to the Border Patrol Agents, Police Officers Sheriffs Deputies and Border Task Forces and Firefighters of this Great Nation that stand the watch on our nations frontlines,  thank you so much much for your continued and dedicated service.

To the family of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, you are in are prayers, and Agent Terry will be gone, but never forgotten, you are a hero.

Well, until next time my friends, take care and May God Bless You and God Bless America.

Merry Christmas to all of my Brother Officers and a Happy New Year, please stay safe.
