It is unfortunate situation, however Cooper did it to himself. I watched the video and indeed what Cooper said was despicable to say the least. In no way or circumstance do I condone what Riley Cooper said, it was wrong and he will suffer the consequences and may lose his career. I don't believe that Cooper is a racist at heart. I believe that he made a terrible mistake.
The problem I have is that when someone other that African American uses the "N" word all hell breaks loose, as in the case of Riley Cooper. Had it been a Black athlete no one would have said a word, chances are it would have been completely over looked because it would have been a BLACK on BLACK attack.
The "N" word is gloried by black artist on a daily basis, not only do they use the "N"word in every word, they also call for the murder of "whites". Where is Al $harpton and Jessie Jack$$on why is that they do not denounce the rappers for such hateful and vile remarks..Yet they come out in force if a white people say something inappropriate. Why? Because it is a one way street that is why. Here a a few examples of the hate filled rhetoric which is glorified by rappers.
Kill the white people; we gonna make them hurt; kill the white
people; but buy my record first; ha, ha, ha"; "Kill d'White People";
--Apache, Apache Ain't Shit, 1993, Music, Time Warner, USA.Denver, CO- A white female teenager, Brandy DuvaI, is
raped, sodomized, tortured with a broomstick and stabbed 28 times by
a gang of six blacks and Hispanics. Her skull is caved in and corpse
dumped into a ditch. Police confiscate a blood soaked mattress as
evidence. The murder trial started on the same day as the James Byrd
trial!"Niggas in the church say: kill whitey all night long. .
. the white man is the devil. . . . the CRIPS and Bloods are
soldiers I'm recruiting with no dispute; drive-by shooting on thi
white genetic mutant. . . . let's go and kill some rednecks. . . .
Menace Clan ain't afraid. . . . I got the .380; the homies think I'm
crazy because I shot a white baby; I said; I said; I said: kill
whitey all night long. . . . a nigga dumping on your white ass; fuck
this rap shit, nigga, I'm gonna blast. . . . I beat a white boy to
the motherfucking ground"; "Kill Whitey"; --Menace Clan, Da Hood,

This is the type of unreported behavior I am talking about. If you want to BAN the offensive word "Nigger" then in my opinion, everyone should be quit glorifying the word. Instead the black rappers are the ones who continue to glorify the word and they pick and choose when to use it and when anyone other than a black person uses the "N" word, that means the person who used the term is racist. That's just my opinion of course.
If the "N" word is so so offensive then why in the hell is it so widely worn by black artist. If it were so offensive then quit wearing the damn shirt with the "N" word plastered all over the fron and back. That is just a thought. source
